Dalton Dance Company

Dalton Dance Company is the auditioned dance company of Dalton Arts Project.  They perform locally in Nutcracker, at benefits, through concerts and ArtReach programs.  After what could be called nothing less than a stellar performance in Nutcracker 2009, the members of Dalton Dance Company are quickly undertaking rehearsals for their March concert.  A featured part of this performance will be a dance by the six senior members of the company, Heather Brewer, Katie Beth Jewell, Lynsey King, Jillian Misner, Natalia Santiago and Christiana Willocks.  The March concert will feature a mix of styles of dance as well as both student and professional choreography.  For more information about Dalton Dance Company and its members, click here.

ArtReach NOW

Dalton Arts Project is gearing up for its annual "Clothing and More" drive to benefit the residents of Cherokee Estates, the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Home for Girls.  This will take place from January 18th through February 5th.  Over the past several years, Dalton Arts Project has been able to collect enough clothing to fully stock the clothes closet at Cherokee Estates.  We want to do the same again this year.  We will collect new and gently used clothes, accessories, bedding and room decor to help make the residents feel more at home.  Please save your items now in preparation for this event.  We will need help with donations, sorting adn delivering the collected items.  Thanks for participating in Dalton Arts Project ArtReach!

Club D in Action

The service organization formed by the members of Dalton Dance Company has been very active lately volunteering in their local communities.  At the beginning of August, the members of Club D organized a school supply drive for the residents of Cherokee Estates, providing notebooks, pens, pencils, calculators, flash drives and brand new backpacks.  On September 19th the girls organized once again and hosted a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Applebee’s raising money to defray performance costs.  One can often see Club D girls volunteering their time around the dance studio helping Ms. Gurley fit costumes or preparing for Dalton Arts Project's programs like the Ballerina Brunch or the DanceArts Camp for Cherokee Estates.  Way to go, ladies!  We look forward to all the ways your community will benefit from what you do!
